Why You Should Get a Flight Attendant Roommate

When people hear that my roommate is a flight attendant, they usually say something like, “that’s got to be the perfect roommate – I bet she’s never home!” That’s sometimes the case, as Emily will be gone up to four days in a row. But since I’m hardly ever home, that’s not really the perk it would be for some.

My Crazy Flight Attendant Roommate, Emily

There is one major perk of having a roomie who flies the high skies on the daily. And it’s not getting super jealous of her Instagram feed:

The ultimate best perk of having a flight attendant roomie is that if you’re really super duper nice to her, she just might pick you to be her travel companion for the year. Yep, cat’s out of the bag! Emily gave me probably the most generous, thoughtful and perfect gift a travel junkie could hope for – free flights for a year on Southwest Airlines!

So, it’s going to be an exciting year for me and Wandering Worldwide. I’ll be able to let chance take me wherever Southwest Airlines flies on any given weekend in 2016. Now that Southwest flies to Puerto Rico, Jamaica, Belize, Aruba, Liberia, San Jose, and Nassau – it’s fairly likely we’ll be making our way there this year. Also, this will give me some better access to do brief weekend trips to visit friends and family all across the U.S.

I couldn’t be more excited and I’m so grateful that my flight attendant roommate picked me! Emily – Thank you. Thank you. Thank you!! Here’s to traveling as much as our little hearts (and work schedules) will allow in 2016. We’ll be kicking it off with a trip in just a few weeks!
